“Th’ witch lied,” Benedict grumbled looking back in Eileen’s direction.
“Whadda we do wit ‘er?” the first mate asked, looking.
“Don’t much care. Put her on an island…dump her overboard,” he sighed, turning to look away from the sight. He was filled with disappointment. Having seen the woman, he had actually begun to believe the witch. He felt taken, like a fool.
“But cap’n…what if the witch is right?” the first mate asked, concern resonating in his words.
Benedict stood for a moment, and then replied with an air of disgust, “A woman… found at sea… with no stomach nor legs for it…is goin’ ta help me find treasure? Doubt it.”
